Zakharova States Russia Will Judge Hungary’s New Government by Policy Documents

On April 16, Maria Zakharova, a representative of Russia’s Foreign Ministry, stated that Moscow will evaluate Hungary’s new government based on the policy program and implementation steps of Peter Magyar’s Tisa party—the party that won the Hungarian parliamentary elections.

“In accordance with the Hungarian constitution,” Zakharova said, “its leader Peter Magyar must form a new government by May this year. We consider it advisable to wait for the publication of his program documents and concrete steps to implement them.”

Zakharova added that Russia remains willing to cooperate with Hungary and respects the Hungarian people’s choice in their political leadership.
