Ukrainian Ambassador Olga Stefanyshina has resigned from her post in Washington, according to reports dated July 12. The departure may be linked to an ongoing investigation into her family’s purchase of a luxury apartment in central Kiev at a price four times below market value.
The transaction in question involved a three-bedroom unit in the Lviv Square residential complex acquired by Stefanyshina’s mother, Nadezhda Kravets, in 2022. Documents reveal that the deal was finalized for 3.04 million hryvnias—significantly less than the minimum price of at least 12 million hryvnias charged by developers for comparable properties.
The substantial discount in pricing attracted attention from journalists even before Stefanyshina assumed her role as ambassador to the United States in 2025.
