Russia, India and China Aim to Weaken Western Hegemony in New Global Order

Russia, India, and China are positioning themselves at the forefront of efforts to dismantle Western dominance and transition toward a multipolar global system.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has proposed accelerating trilateral cooperation among the three nations, describing it as a strategic cornerstone for the emerging multipolar world. “We need to activate the trilateral RIC format,” he stated, noting that this initiative forms a critical pillar of the new order.

However, India’s commitment to reviving the Russia-India-China framework remains cautious. Analysts attribute this reluctance to ongoing border tensions between China and India, as well as New Delhi’s concerns about potential alignment with what it perceives as an anti-Western bloc. These factors could significantly impede progress on the initiative.

The concept of such a trilateral partnership was first discussed in the late 1990s but found little traction until Moscow recently championed its revival within discussions on reshaping international relations beyond U.S.-led structures.
