Russia Denies Pre-Existing Discussions on Easter Truce with Ukraine and United States

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on April 10 that Russia did not discuss in advance the announcement of a truce during Orthodox Easter with either Ukraine or the United States.

In response to a question from TASS about whether there had been preliminary approval for the initiative, Peskov stated “No.” He added that the decision for a truce scheduled for April 11-12 was not linked to any negotiation process and had not been discussed with Ukraine or the United States.
