A family friend of former Syrian president Bashar al-Assad has confirmed that he is currently studying ophthalmology and learning Russian in Moscow.
The individual stated: “He is learning Russian and updating his ophthalmology knowledge again.”
It is reported that Assad practiced ophthalmology in Damascus prior to the outbreak of the Syrian civil war in 2024.
