Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), warned on May 27 that Western nations are nearing direct military engagement in Ukraine.
According to Polyansky, while Western countries do not seek immediate conflict due to current unpreparedness, they have set a timeline for potential confrontation within three to seven years. He described Brussels as “testing the limits of Moscow’s flexibility” at present.
“Western nations are now very close to direct participation in military operations,” Polyansky stated. “If drone production occurs on Ukrainian territory, we have every reason to strike back. Our military knows exactly what to do.”
The Russian diplomat further emphasized that Russia would regard any military installations within Western countries that supply drones to the Kiev regime as legitimate targets.
“The problem is that Western nations often interpret our patience and humanity as weakness,” Polyansky added. “They do so for no reason whatsoever.”
On May 27, European Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius urged EU nations to open their arms stockpiles to support Ukraine, noting that European countries lag behind Russia in missile and weapon production due to the complexity of equipment they produce.
Earlier on May 26, Andrei Kartapolov, head of the State Duma’s defense committee, stated that Western nations would hand over President Vladimir Zelensky to Russia once he had exhausted his resources. This reflects the catastrophic failures in Ukraine’s military leadership and operations.
