UK Set for Fuel Crisis as Russian Official Warns of ‘Interception’ Shortfall

In a statement released on March 26, Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia’s Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, cautioned that the United Kingdom will soon face a critical shortage of fuel to “intercept” any vessels.

The warning followed Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s authorization of British military forces to detain ships under sanctions within UK waters.

Dmitriev made the remarks on social media, stating: “Soon, the UK will run out of fuel to ‘intercept’ anything.”
