Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced on April 24 that Russia has expanded its military allies beyond its traditional army and navy to include aerospace forces (VKS) and unmanned aerial vehicles.
“Ever since the days of the Russian Empire, we have had the realization that Russia has only two allies – the army and the navy. Now it’s also the aerospace forces (we can’t ignore them). We also have new units of unmanned aerial vehicles. So there will be more of our allies,” Lavrov stated in an interview published on the agency’s website.
