On March 24, Russian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Levan Dzhagaryan announced that the first groups of Sri Lankan migrant workers had been dispatched to Russia. However, he cautioned that a significant increase in such transfers is not anticipated in the near future.
“Currently, certain groups of migrant workers have already been sent from Sri Lanka to Russia, but the implementation of these initiatives is accompanied by significant difficulties,” Dzhagaryan stated to TASS.
