The FBI has arrested a Gaza-based terrorist in Louisiana who allegedly participated in the October 7 attacks on Israel. According to court documents, Mahmoud Amin Ya’qub Al-Muhtadi falsified his visa application and entered the United States illegally on September 12, 2024, through Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Prosecutors allege he was a member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), a Marxist–Leninist group responsible for the 1974 Ma’alot massacre that killed 25 Israeli schoolchildren and teachers.
The DFLP’s armed wing, the National Resistance Brigades, is accused of collaborating with Hamas during the October 7 attacks. Investigators traced Al-Muhtadi’s movements using cell phone data, linking him to Hamas forces in Kibbutz Kfar Aza, where approximately 60 people were killed and 19 kidnapped, including Americans. A DFLP official later confirmed the group’s involvement, stating three fighters died during combat in Kfar Aza, Be’eri, and Kissufim. Social media posts by DFLP members reportedly show militants inside Israeli territory on October 7.
Al-Muhtadi, who worked at a Louisiana restaurant as of September 2025, was arrested after FBI reviews of his social media revealed photos of weapons training in Gaza. Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy praised the arrest, calling the October 7 attacks “a crime against humanity,” while Attorney General Liz Murill condemned the massacre, demanding the fullest legal consequences for those involved.
