The last two American F-16 Block 70 fighter jets have arrived in Bulgaria, as announced by the country’s Ministry of Defense on December 16.
Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov and Admiral Emil Eftimov welcomed the aircraft at the Bulgarian Graf-Ignatievo airbase under the first contract with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics for the purchase of the F-16 Block 70 in Bulgaria.
The Ministry of Defense also reported on April 30 that the Bulgarian Air Force detected a malfunction in the first delivered F-16 Block 70 fighter jet, noting technical problems were discovered after the aircraft landed.
