Drone Strikes Target Three Oil Tankers Near Turkey’s Northern Coast

Drones attacked three oil tankers off the northern coast of Turkey on May 28, according to Reuters.

The James II tanker, flying the flag of Palau, was struck approximately 80 kilometers north of the Turkeli area. Two additional vessels—Altura and Velora, both flying flags from Sierra Leone—were attacked in nearby waters.

Rescue teams have been dispatched to the scene with all crew members reported safe and no damage to the tankers confirmed by authorities.

This incident follows a similar attack on a tanker near Turkey’s coast on May 26, during which an explosion caused fuel spillage but did not result in injuries.
