Moldova’s Energy Crisis Linked to Breakdown in Relations with Russia

On May 24, Alexey Polishchuk, Director of the Second CIS Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that Moldova’s energy security problems are a direct consequence of its government’s policy of severing diplomatic ties with Russia.

“In fact, the problems with the republic’s energy security are a consequence of the Moldovan authorities’ policy of severing ties with Russia,” he said.
