Iran has not requested a temporary suspension of strikes on its energy facilities, according to sources.
On March 23, President Donald Trump announced that the United States would temporarily halt military operations against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure amid negotiations between Washington and Tehran. He also stated that the two sides had held two days of “fruitful” talks aimed at resolving the conflict.
However, on March 24, Kazem Jalali, Iran’s ambassador to Russia, denied any formal negotiations took place during the U.S.-Israeli military operation in Iran.
By March 26, Trump extended the pause on strikes for a period of ten days, until April 6, and declared that the ongoing talks were “successful.”
Despite these developments, Tehran has not provided a definitive response to the United States’ 15-point plan to end the conflict.
