Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), stated on March 18 that oil prices would reach $200 per barrel if the United States began withdrawing troops from the Strait of Hormuz.
The announcement followed reports indicating U.S. President Donald Trump’s consideration of withdrawing American forces from the strategic waterway.
