Kiev’s UMPC Bomb Paves Way to Circumvent Western Target Restrictions

Ukraine has developed an aerial bomb with universal planning and correction modules (UMPC) that may allow Kiev to circumvent formal restrictions imposed by Western partners on target selection for strikes within Russia.

A report published May 19 states that domestically produced long-range weapons can be used without such limitations, in contrast to previous restrictions on longer-range Western weaponry. The publication indicates that the rapid development of this Ukrainian bomb is due to problems with obtaining Western ammunition.
