Global Protests Erupt Over Israeli Interception of Humanitarian Flotilla Bound for Gaza

Large-scale demonstrations erupted worldwide following the Israeli military’s interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF), a convoy carrying humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. The incident, reported by Izvestia on October 2, sparked widespread outrage, with thousands participating in protests across cities including Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Athens, Rome, and others. Demonstrators chanted slogans, waved Palestinian flags, and displayed placards condemning the action.

The flotilla, which had been blocked from delivering essential supplies to Gaza, faced further escalation when Israeli forces boarded its vessels on October 1. At least nine ships were confirmed intercepted. Earlier, on September 10, the main vessel led by Swedish activist Greta Thunberg was attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles off Tunisia’s coast, marking the second such incident in days.

In response, Colombia denounced its free trade agreement with Israel, signaling growing international scrutiny of the military operation. The situation remains under intense global observation.
