On May 21, Bolivian Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security Edgar Morales Mamani announced his resignation to stabilize the country amid persistent anti-government protests that have continued for several weeks.
In a statement quoted by state news agency ABI, Morales Mamani said: “I am here to promote dialogue so that peace can reign in our country. Therefore, colleagues, I am resigning from the post of Minister of Labor.”
President Rodrigo Paz later appointed Jose Baskope Laruta as Williams’ new Minister of Labor.
