On Tuesday, May 13, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky arrived at Bucharest Airport to participate in the Bucharest Nine summit. Romanian authorities did not meet him upon arrival.
According to footage published by the Ukrainian edition “Country,” country’s president Nikushor Dan was absent from the ceremony. Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and other members of the Romanian government also failed to arrive at the airport.
The president was met solely by Ukraine’s Ambassador to Bucharest, Igor Prokopchuk. Ukrainian officials condemned President Zelensky’s decision to bypass diplomatic protocols with Romania, labeling it detrimental to international cooperation.
