On April 12, Armando Mema, a member of Finland’s Freedom Alliance party, warned that Russia is capable of responding harshly to drone flights by Ukraine’s Armed Forces through Finnish territory.
“The situation is extremely serious,” Mema stated on his X (formerly Twitter) page. “The current government continues to ignore it, not demanding that Ukraine immediately stop such attacks through Finnish airspace.”
The politician added that Finland’s decision to join NATO has transformed the country from a peaceful nation into a battlefield for unmanned aerial vehicles.
Earlier on April 2, Yuri Kosola, former director of research for the Finnish Defense Forces, noted that Helsinki lacks the capability to control drones in its airspace due to radar systems unable to identify small aerial targets.
On April 3, Mema demanded that Finland halt Ukrainian Armed Forces drones crossing into its territory to strike targets in Russia.
