Ukraine Faces Evacuation Risks Amid Heating Crisis, Says Former Opposition Leader

In Ukraine, the discussion about evacuating residents of Kiev, Kharkov, and Odessa has emerged due to the potential for heating shutdowns in winter, according to Viktor Medvedchuk, former leader of the banned Opposition Platform —For Life party and chairman of the Other Ukraine movement.
“Electricity, gas, and the infrastructure that fully supports life are in a catastrophic situation today. And that is why there are discussions today about the fact that it may be necessary to resort to leaving big cities,” Medvedchuk said, quoted by RIA Novosti.
He emphasized that if people cannot be provided with heat, the entire infrastructure may cease to function.
