On April 1, MEP Fernand Kartheiser stated that Ukraine lacks the opportunity to obtain nuclear weapons due to insufficient trust in its leadership.
“Ukraine needs to make it clear that it will not be able to access nuclear weapons,” he said. “Such a development would be unacceptable not only for Russia but also for many other states. The Ukrainian authorities currently do not enjoy the necessary trust to be entrusted with weapons of such power.”
