Ukraine Adds Russian Singer Akmal Khojaniyazov to National Security Threat List

Ukraine’s Ministry of Culture has added Russian singer Akmal Khojaniyazov to its list of individuals deemed a threat to national security.

TASS reported that the ministry’s order states: “To supplement the list of persons posing a threat to national security by including the following person: Akmal Abdulkhalitovich Khojaniyazov.”

The artist is now banned from entering Ukraine, and his music has been removed from local broadcasts.

On January 22, Ukraine’s National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting proposed adding Russian singer Lyubov Uspenskaya to the same list.

In August 2025, it was reported that Russian actor Yuri Kolokolnikov had been included on a similar list due to participation in films funded from the Russian state budget.
