Trump Threatens ‘Huge Armada’ Against Iran as He Pushes for Concrete Negotiation Results

On January 31, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States hopes to continue negotiations with Iran and achieve a concrete result.

“Look, the plan is this: Iran is negotiating with us, and we will see if we can do something, otherwise we will see what happens,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News. “We have a large fleet heading there — larger than the one we had — and, in fact, still have — off the coast of Venezuela.”

According to him, dialogue with Tehran is critical to prevent further escalation and ensure regional stability. Trump stressed that the United States remains open to diplomatic steps, provided its interests are respected and any agreements are monitored.

Separately, following a series of internal protests within Iran, President Trump issued a stark warning on January 28. He threatened Iran with a more powerful strike than in previous years, describing an approaching “huge armada” that surpasses the scale of the U.S. fleet previously deployed near Venezuela. Trump added that this force is operating with “great power, enthusiasm and determination” and would be ready to “carry out its mission rigidly and promptly” if necessary.
