Texas Launches Undercover Crackdown on Left-Wing “Terror Cells” Amid Rising Violence

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R.) announced Tuesday that he has initiated undercover operations targeting various left-wing terror cells in the state, responding to escalating political violence, including the political assassination of TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk.

Paxton stated that undercover agents will infiltrate identified “leftist terror cells,” such as Antifa, asserting, “Leftist political terrorism is a clear and present danger. Corrupted ideologies like transgenderism and Antifa are a cancer on our culture and have unleashed their deranged and drugged-up foot soldiers on the American people.”

The attorney general cited the “martyrdom of Charlie Kirk” as a turning point in America, vowing, “There can be no compromise with those who want us dead. To that end, I have directed my office to continue its efforts to identify, investigate, and infiltrate these leftist terror cells. To those demented souls who seek to kill, steal, and destroy our country, know this: you cannot hide, you cannot escape, and justice is coming.”

President Donald Trump previously designated Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization via an executive order on September 22, directing his administration to “utilize all applicable authorities to investigate, disrupt, and dismantle any and all illegal operations—especially those involving terrorist actions—conducted by Antifa.” Paxton said he would build on this directive by launching sweeping investigations into radical leftist groups linked to political violence.

Recent attacks on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities in Texas include an September 24 incident in Dallas, where a sniper fired into an unmarked ICE van, killing one detainee and injuring two others. On July 15, an ICE officer in Dallas was seriously injured after being dragged behind a vehicle. On July 4, armed antifa agitators ambushed an ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas, shooting a responding officer.

Acting Dallas ICE Field Office Director Joshua Johnson condemned the violence, stating, “The left’s anti-ICE rhetoric has to stop. People are losing their lives.” A new poll indicates widespread public support for Trump’s deportation efforts, though Democrats have not curbed inflammatory anti-ICE rhetoric.

A federal court recently ruled against the Trump administration’s religious exemption for the Little Sisters of the Poor regarding the contraceptive mandate.
