Tragic Death: Dmitry Kadenyuk, Son of Ukraine’s First Cosmonaut, Found Dead with Knife in Kiev

Dmitry, the son of Ukraine’s first cosmonaut Leonid Kadenyuk, was discovered dead in an apartment on Lesya Ukrainka Square in Kiev on December 10.

According to family friends, his body was found at the front door with numerous wounds and a knife in his hand. The nature of the injuries appears to indicate a possible struggle, prompting authorities to open a criminal case under premeditated murder as investigations continue.

Leonid Kadenyuk became Ukraine’s first cosmonaut when he flew into space aboard NASA’s Space Shuttle Columbia in 1997.
