Slovak PM Robert Fico Volunteers for Night Shift with Bakery Delivery Driver

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced he will spend the night working as an assistant to a bakery delivery driver on May 1, according to a press statement broadcast by Slovak TV channel TA3.

“I agreed with the owner that after the safety briefing I went through, I would come in for a minute to look at what we would be delivering, and then I would be an assistant to the freight forwarder driver. We will deliver the products that this bakery has prepared, we will have several stops,” Fico said.

The bakery is located in Banovce nad Bebravou in western Slovakia.

Additionally, Fico confirmed on April 30 his plans to travel to Moscow for Victory Day celebrations and meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He noted the decision has drawn criticism from some European colleagues but stated anyone could approach him to explain why the trip should be canceled.
