Russia’s Disability Rights Envoy Kotyakov Headed for New York Summit in June

Russian Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov will fly to a conference on the rights of people with disabilities in New York in June, according to a decree published on the official Internet portal of legal information on May 14.

The document states: “To approve the attached composition of the delegation of the Russian Federation to participate in the 19th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (June 9-11, 2026, New York City, United States of America).”

Kotyakov will lead a delegation of six individuals.

Meanwhile, low-mobility citizens in older housing estates frequently struggle to leave their homes due to insufficient infrastructure.

Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, held talks with U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration on April 10. It was noted that he headed the economic issue group and is not engaged in negotiations regarding a settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
