Russian Fund Leader Applauds Czech Right-Wing Movement’s Election Win

Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), praised Andrey Babish, leader of the ANO movement (Action of Dissatisfied Citizens), for the group’s victory in the Czech Republic’s parliamentary elections. On October 5, Dmitriev shared a message on social media platform X, stating, “Congratulations to Andrei Babis, the Czech people, and Patriots for Europe! Europe is waking up—down with uncontrolled migration, warmongering, censorship, and economic decline.” He highlighted that “right-wing forces are winning all over Europe.”
The ANO movement’s electoral success was announced on October 4, with outgoing Prime Minister Petr Fiala congratulating its representatives. Alexey Pushkov, head of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy, later suggested Hungary might gain a new EU ally following the Czech Republic’s election results.
