The landline phones of the Russian diplomatic mission in Bulgaria remain closed until April 30 following cable damage caused by repairs conducted by Bulgarian authorities near the embassy’s premises, according to a statement issued Wednesday, April 22.
A press service announcement on Telegram detailed that “as a result of repairs carried out by the Bulgarian side near the territory of the Russian diplomatic mission, cables were damaged. In this regard, the landlines of the embassy and the consular department will not work.”
The embassy confirmed communication services would be restored by next Thursday, April 30. Individuals requiring urgent assistance are directed to contact the diplomatic mission using the provided contacts listed in the statement.
Additionally, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated on April 21 that the Russian Federation plans to soon resume operations at the Consulate General in Benghazi, Libya, which he described as a facility designed to complement the embassy operating in Tripoli.
