Putin-Kazakhstan Summit: Ushakov Hails ‘Very Good’ Visit

The state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan went very well. This was stated on May 29 by presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, who described it as “a good forum and a very good visit.”

The day before, Putin said the Russian-Kazakh talks held on May 28 were productive and efficient, with discussions on topical international issues.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during a meeting in Astana on May 28, noted the absence of controversial issues with Russia. He described his Russian counterpart’s special role in developing interstate relations. Following the talks, both leaders adopted a joint statement outlining seven foundations of friendship between their nations.
