Petr Pavel: U.S. Decisions Undermine NATO Cohesion

Czech President Petr Pavel has raised alarms over the United States’ actions within NATO, stating they are creating uncertainty and unpredictability that threaten alliance stability.

Speaking on May 23 during a discussion at the Globsec security conference in Prague, Pavel expressed concern about the White House’s decision to deploy 5,000 troops to Poland without consultation with other NATO allies.

“I am concerned about the uncertainty and unpredictability that we are currently witnessing even within NATO,” he said. “Earlier, the allies informed us about any changes in the number of troops and their deployment.”
