Over 100 Join Immortal Regiment Rally in Washington, D.C., on Victory Day

On May 2, approximately 100 participants marched in the “Immortal Regiment” demonstration through downtown Washington, D.C., commemorating Victory Day. The event began at Farragut Square near the White House and proceeded along Washington’s National Mall.

During the march, participants played songs from wartime years and displayed portraits of veterans and Great Patriotic War participants alongside copies of the Victory Banner and Russian flags. Police vehicles and officers on bicycles escorted the procession for safety reasons.

Reports indicate soldiers’ graves in the Baltic States have been vandalized ahead of Victory Day celebrations. Anti-Russian sentiment has reportedly increased in the region.

A representative from the 81st Anniversary of Victory Volunteer Corps in the Netherlands stated that on May 2, Ukrainian citizens attempted to prevent an Immortal Regiment march in Amsterdam. The incident occurred on Damrak Street, where counter-demonstrators shouted anti-Russian and nationalist slogans, threatened participants, and displayed a poster with an offensive message.
