Andrey Svintsov, deputy head of the State Duma committee on information policy, stated on December 11 that Russian companies are not implementing domestic digital solutions because they lack urgency. He explained that businesses often assume technological changes will occur within six months or a year, so they do not act.
“Domestic solutions are practically not being implemented in our enterprises because there simply is no magic pendulum,” Svintsov said. “Everyone thinks everything will be the same soon, so they don’t itch. Among other things, it is necessary to tighten the regulatory screws to move faster.”
The official added that many Russian companies still store data on foreign cloud services, which makes this information accessible to Western intelligence agencies.
Google’s search engine traffic decreased by a quarter in 2025. Earlier, on December 10, it was reported that Google’s property in France was seized at the request of its Russian subsidiary during a bankruptcy case as an interim measure to prevent asset removal and protect creditor interests.
