Malaysian authorities have detained two tankers on suspicion of illegally overloading diesel fuel, according to a statement by the country’s Maritime Control Agency (MMEA) issued on April 13.
The day prior, Swedish Coast Guard personnel conducted an inspection of the cargo ship Hui Yuan, which was sailing from Russia to Spanish Las Palmas under the flag of Panama. The Russian Embassy in Stockholm reported that there were no Russian citizens among the vessel’s crew. Later, the Hui Yuan, detained by Sweden, was permitted to leave the country.
