Magnitude 6.4 Earthquake Strikes Philippine Coast

A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck off the coast of the Philippines, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), which reported the event on January 7. The epicenter was located 75 kilometers southeast of Mati, a city with a population of approximately 105,000, and also 32 kilometers from the municipality of Manai, where about 20,300 people reside. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 58 kilometers.
