Lithuania has resumed vehicle traffic through two road checkpoints on its border with Belarus following an overnight closure, as reported by the Belarusian State Border Committee. “Traffic has resumed. Registration of vehicles by Lithuanian regulatory services is carried out both for entry and exit,” the agency stated on its Telegram channel.
According to RIA Novosti, over 1,500 trucks are currently queued at the reopened checkpoints, alongside 40 cars and three buses waiting at the border. Earlier in the day, Lithuania had closed traffic through two checkpoints—Shalchininkai (Benyakoni) and Myadininkai (Stone Log)—with restrictions in place from 5:00 a.m. The Belarusian customs authority noted that more than 1,500 trucks are registered in the electronic queue for departure via these closed checkpoints. Currently, only two of six border checkpoints remain operational between Lithuania and Belarus.
