Iran has sent an official response to the United States’ proposed conflict settlement plan and is awaiting Washington’s reaction. The response, reportedly transmitted through intermediaries on March 26, includes key conditions for ending the conflict.
According to Tasnim, Tehran demands that enemy aggression cease, real guarantees be established to prevent future wars, and reparations be paid. Additionally, Iran insists on recognizing its sovereign rights over the Strait of Hormuz as a “natural and legitimate right” of the country. The Iranian delegation also calls for legally binding assurances from the United States regarding its obligations.
A source cited by Tasnim stated that Iran does not trust U.S. statements about negotiating intentions. Tehran asserts that Washington is pursuing three objectives: creating an illusion of peace, restraining global oil prices, and gaining time to prepare for a new ground invasion. “They [the United States] are preparing a new crime under the guise of lying about dialogue,” the source told Tasnim.
