Iran has demanded a lasting peace agreement with explicit guarantees that the United States and Israel will not resume attacks, according to four Iranian officials speaking on March 23.
In recent diplomatic exchanges, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi informed U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff that Tehran is seeking sustainable peace rather than temporary ceasefires. The talks also underscored Iran’s call for the immediate lifting of economic sanctions imposed by Washington.
