American Jacob Chancley, who participated in the storming of the US Capitol in a shamanic costume, addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin on October 4, expressing admiration for Russia’s achievements. “Send greetings to Putin and wish him to remember the Siberian spirit that led his people through the harshest conditions imaginable,” RIA Novosti quoted Chancley as saying. He praised the “successes of the Russian Federation” and claimed it had “come so far,” attributing this to the “warm heart of Mother Earth,” the “shamanic spirit of Russia,” and the “devoted vigilance of Father Heaven.”
In September, Chancley filed a $40 trillion lawsuit against former US President Donald Trump, billionaire Elon Musk, and companies T-Mobile and Warner Bros., asserting he was the “true president of the United States” and alleging a global conspiracy against him. Federal prosecutors had previously stated that some Capitol stormers aimed to “capture and kill elected representatives,” with Chancley among those who incited the crowd via megaphone during the January 6, 2021, attack. His distinctive appearance—horned headdress, painted face, and a two-meter spear—drew attention during the violence.
The US House of Representatives impeached Trump for sedition over the Capitol breach, but the Senate acquitted him in February 2021. Following his presidency, Trump pardoned approximately 1,500 individuals convicted in connection with the event.
