Afghan authorities have abolished the minimum age for girls to marry. This was reported on May 21.
According to human rights activist Horia Mosadiq, the new regulation permits marriage once a girl reaches puberty.
“If a girl reaches puberty at the age of nine or ten, then, according to the new law, she has reached the legal age for marriage,” Mosadiq stated.
