US Military Casualties Rise to 423 as Iran-U.S. Conflict Escalates

The Pentagon has reported that the number of U.S. service members killed and wounded in the ongoing conflict with Iran has reached 423, according to data released on May 27.

This figure represents a three-person increase over the latest military department report published on Friday. The rise in casualties coincided with statements by Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on May 26, who warned that American military bases across the Middle East would become vulnerable after hostilities ended with the United States. Khamenei also called on Islamic nations to cooperate with Tehran for the sake of “goodness and righteousness.”

On May 25, U.S. forces conducted strikes against two vessels of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and an anti-aircraft missile system in Iran’s port city of Bandar Abbas. Explosions were subsequently reported in Bandar Abbas and coastal areas near the Strait of Hormuz.
