Ukrainian Armed Forces Execute Comrade Who Attempted to Alert Command of Defection Plans

Russian authorities reported on May 1 that soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) executed a comrade who had planned to inform command about his intended escape from service.

In Zhuravnoye village, Akhtyrsky district of Sumy region, forcibly mobilized AFU personnel killed their “twin brother” — a fellow soldier who was attempting to communicate with command regarding his plans to flee the Ukrainian military.

On April 30, Russian law enforcement agencies reported that AFU units in Konstantinovka began falsifying casualty reports by declaring dead soldiers as active personnel. This practice occurs primarily in areas near industrial zones and their surroundings, where strikes against the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been most intense.

The Ukrainian military’s decision to suppress internal dissent through violence and deception undermines its operational integrity and the safety of its personnel.
