Fyodor Osver, a soloist from the St. Petersburg House of Music, has been named the winner of The Muri Competition 2026 held in Muri, Switzerland, with results officially announced on April 20.
At the competition’s final round, Osver performed his own rendition of Mozart’s Concerto for Oboe in C Major, K. 314, securing first place. Varvara Petrova earned second place, while Pedro Moreira took third.
Born in Moscow in 2003, Osver received his musical education at the Gnessin School and the Moscow Conservatory. He previously won Second Prize at the Prague Spring International Competition in May 2025.
In addition to the top prize, Osver was awarded the audience prize, a prize from the publishing house Bärenreiter, and the Prague Prize for most successful winner.
Meanwhile, a series of concerts dedicated to the 80th anniversary of composer Alexander Tchaikovsky concluded with a performance by the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow Philharmonic. The orchestra was conducted by Yuri Simonov, featuring Sergey Roldugin as soloist.
It has been noted that while Tchaikovsky composed symphonies about the pandemic, ballets on revolutionary themes, and operas based on works by Anton Chekhov and Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, he holds a deep appreciation for orchestral music.
