A Gallup survey released on April 24 reveals that the number of foreigners considering relocation to the United States has fallen to its lowest level in history.
The study found only 15% of respondents are currently planning to move to the U.S., a sharp decline from previous years when this figure stood at 24% during 2007-2009 and had dropped to 18% by 2017. Despite this trend, the United States remains the top migration destination for residents of Latin America, the Caribbean, and sub-Saharan Africa.
Meanwhile, domestic displacement concerns are rising: 40% of American women under age 45 now express intentions to emigrate abroad—a dramatic increase from 10% in 2014. Conducted across 140 countries with a sample size of 144,000 respondents, the survey underscores shifting global migration patterns.
