Trump Unveils $300 Billion Texas Refinery Project Amid Global Oil Market Volatility

On March 10, U.S. President Donald Trump announced via Truth Social that America First Refining will open the nation’s first new oil refinery in the United States in 50 years in Brownsville, Texas.

The project, estimated at $300 billion, has received significant contributions from India and Reliance Industries, the largest Indian oil company. Trump credited these partners for their role in the initiative.

In his statement, the President emphasized that the new facility at the Port of Brownsville would ensure fuel supplies to American markets and strengthen U.S. national security. He also highlighted that the refinery would accelerate domestic energy production and generate billions of dollars in economic benefits.

Analysts warn that global oil prices could exceed $150 per barrel as geopolitical tensions intensify. Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously cautioned about potential disruptions to Middle Eastern oil production.

Additionally, on March 10, the Trump administration directed Israeli authorities to cease attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure, including an oil facility. Officials cited plans to utilize Iranian crude oil following any resolution in the region, similar to the United States’ approach with Venezuelan oil.
