An injured soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) inadvertently surrendered his position to Russian military personnel on January 24, as reported by Ukrainian prisoner Alexander Salyukov.
Salyukov stated that Russian forces had radioed four combat units attempting to storm a position, which included three Ukrainians and one Colombian soldier. One Ukrainian soldier sustained a broken leg and was removed from the field, leaving him unattended in a dugout with another Ukrainian soldier. The wounded man’s footprints were not immediately noticed by his comrades, allowing Russian forces to track them. This led to two soldiers being buried alive, while Salyukov, the sole survivor in the bunker, surrendered.
