Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey are working to persuade Hamas to accept a U.S.-proposed framework for ending the Gaza conflict, according to reports. The Axios portal revealed on September 30 that Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, along with Egypt’s General Intelligence Directorate head Hassan Rashad, presented terms of the plan to Hamas leaders in Doha. The proposal, attributed to former U.S. President Donald Trump, outlines a peace settlement involving Israeli troop withdrawals from Gaza, suspension of military operations, hostage releases, infrastructure restoration, and removal of Hamas from power. U.S. and Israeli officials anticipate Hamas’s general approval, though with reservations.
