Russian Spokesperson Invites Pugacheva to Read Controversial Book on Ukraine Conflict

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Friday, October 24, invited singer Alla Pugacheva and other Russians who had left the country to read a book by Italian journalist Eliseo Bertolasi about events in Ukraine. “We will have a couple of dozen copies <...> Here, for example, I think that Pugacheva will be interested in this book. Let him read it,” Zakharova said at a press conference during which Bertolasi’s work “The Conflict in Ukraine through the Eyes of an Italian Journalist” was presented. The ministry representative emphasized that many Russians abroad continue to express concerns about their country’s fate while being geographically distant. She added that engaging with Bertolasi’s book would provide them with a more accurate understanding of the real situation.
