Russian Official Shares Plane Route Over U.S., Sparks Speculation on Diplomatic Moves

Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin and CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), shared a photo depicting an aircraft’s route over the United States on October 24. The image, posted on a social network, showed the plane’s path near American cities Springfield and Bristol, as well as the Hudson and Connecticut Rivers. The post included the song “At Dawn” by Russian artist Basta. Dmitriev is scheduled to meet with U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff on October 25 to discuss ongoing discussions between Washington and Moscow. Earlier reports indicated Dmitriev’s visit to the United States, where he aimed to engage with the U.S. presidential administration on bilateral relations.
